Softmodded Xbox (1) got nuked by Live update - help.

Hello all,

My friend has a softmodded xbox, and says when he loaded Jade Empire, it updated his "live" and now it only boots to the MS dash.

How can he fix this?  Do I need to boot up the exploit save in Splinter Cell and install the softmod again, or will this not work?

that or use an auto installer disk

wasn't sure if it would boot a burnt disc.

Gonna give it a try tonight, he just dropped it off.

it should still pick-up I think.

the non stock dash must have gotten moved or written over somehow but the rest should still be there hopefully.

Update:

Wouldn't boot a DVDr, so I booted Splinter Cell.  The HD still had the Autoinstaller saves, so it was a 2 minute fix.

This happened to one of my chip modded xboxes last night.  I have another but haven't turned it on yet.

With your chipped xbox, you should be able to boot a AID disc, and replace the dashboard.  Should be an easy fix (hopefully).
