2 years old and using coin-ops

Ok, had to tell somebody who might appreciate this.

Yesterday, we went shopping at the mall.  They have a quarter video roller coaster ride.  I gave my daughter (who just turned two the day before thanksgiving) the quarters to start the ride, and pointed out the button to start it so she could push it.

Today, while out with the wife and mother-in-law, we stopped at a local hot-dog shop that had a jukebox.  I handed Jayne (2yr old) four quarters and pointed at the jukebox and reminded her once of how the quarters went yesterday.  She walked over, very carefully dropped them in one at a time and came back with a huge grin.  Then i pointed at the row of number buttons and said, push the buttons and choose a song.  Oddly enough the first round of button pushing actually started a song.  The look on my mother-in-laws face was priceless.  After that my wife got up and "helped" her pick out the rest of the songs.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!

We gamers must pass it down to our little ones. My little boy has been playing video games since he was about 11 months old. Here's a picture of him playing Mortal Kombat against my niece before he was one. He knew pressing the control pad made the character move. We were amazed.

The real test of intelligence here is the song she chose.  ;D

Good job starting her out with the coin ops young! I was, and look how I turned out!
Well, on second thought....

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.
