Turn Jib-Jab into printable photo
« on: November 28, 2008, 03:39:44 pm »
Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone could tell me how to turn a jib-jab e-card into a format that i can take on a cd  or usb pen into a photo shop and get printed as a normal photo. I don't know anything about this kind of stuff but I would love to use one for our cheesy Xmas cards this year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking

Have you tried the "PrtScn" button to the right of the F keys?  I don't have any specific experience with Jib-Jab in this regard but with most things on the PC you hit that button then open a new MSpaint and hit edit paste or Ctr-V.

No guarantees but you should give it a try!
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, the print screen does work but it saves the whole screen, I'm not sure how to just save the image into a format and size that I can get printed. Maybe I could crop it or something?( not sure how to) Any ideas folks  :dizzy:

Yes, crop it.  Most photo editing programs (even free ones) have a crop option as it's pretty basic.

When I need a screen shot of a YouTube video or similar for whatever reason, I will do a PRINTSCREEN, open Photoshop, create a new image, Paste and crop.  It's easy as cake!

ALT-PRTSCRN captures just the window in focus, if that helps.

Even a standard Windows program like Paint can crop. It's a bit less obvious, but it works. Paste the screenshot, slide it to the upper right to crop that part out, then click outside of the selection (so the selection marquee disappears) and then grab the marker on lower right the corner to crop that part away.
