Few DS Lite Guitar hero and araknoid spinner questions for those who have them:

1. How does each of them connect to the DS lite?

2. What are each of their functions like does the araknoid spinner only go's left and right function wise and has no buttons or it has buttons and they work like the X,Y or A,B etc.

3. I also am wondering what the guitar hero buttons function as if they are even buttons.

4. does anyone know if both the araknoid spinner and guitar hero controllers can both be connected to a single ds at the same time and work.

5. is there any other type of controller accessory beside's the two I have listed above.

any info would be helpfull thank's.

They both connect via the slot 2 (GBA port).

2. What are each of their functions like does the araknoid spinner only go's left and right function wise and has no buttons or it has buttons and they work like the X,Y or A,B etc.I have not seen the Arkanoid spinner for the DS.  Didn't even realize that this existed...

3. I also am wondering what the guitar hero buttons function as if they are even buttons.
They do function as ABXY buttons.

4. does anyone know if both the araknoid spinner and guitar hero controllers can both be connected to a single ds at the same time and work. No, you cannot have both in at the same time.  They each have their adapters that slide into the slot 2.

5. is there any other type of controller accessory besides the two I have listed above.
There is a tilt/motion sensor.  I think the tilt come with the Metroid Pinball and there is a motion sensor that comes with the new Tony Hawk Motion game.

any info would be helpfull thank's.

Oh WOW I haven't heard about that Arkanoid DS spinner until now -- I must have it!  I can't find one anywhere in stock though.  Anyone know where I can pick up a non-pink one?

EDIT: nevermind, there are some on ebay.

It was never sold in the US, so finding one has always been a matter of import or ebay.

I think you need the japanese version of arkanoid to work with the spinner as well.

My motive for the post was to try to make a controller for it but I found out the pinouts so I can hook anything up to them now really but it renders the gba slot useless if the controller is able to plug and unplug.

my goal now is how to make a port on the side so the gba slot is left alone and this way I can plug into the added port with anything I make instead without rendering the gba slot useless.

so far the snes controller is looking the best becuase it has all the same buttons and layout to match the ds lite already.

WHY ??? holding the DS lite is not very comfortable for me after an hour so I would preffer to set it on the table and play it with a classic controller that never bothered me a bit no matter how long I played :laugh2:

anyone have any idea's for a port or socket that has at least 13 seperate pins?

I know the DB-15 "vga" type plugs would work but I would preffer something like half it's size if possible there is a little room in there to play with but not to much so the smallest possible is the wya to go but it needs at least 13 seperate pins.

maybe somethig like video harness for the arcade monitor pins but alot smaller would work also where it would plug in like a IDE cable for the PC type thing but way smaller  :dunno

if I can find the right port/socket or whatever male/female plug thing I am going to do it and will make a tutorial if others are interested.

Besides Arkanoid and Space Invaders Extreme, it also appears that this spinner works with Mario Kart (although it doesn't look very precise):
