monitor probs

my monitor is giving me thin black lines flashing subtly horizontal, through the length of the screen... any idea as to what it could be? other than that everything is perfectly fine. I want to believe it is the refresh lines or something like that as i read somewhere, but i dunno how to fix this, it happens no matter what i'm running on the pc either, so its definitely a monitor problem, i probably need a new monitor i dunno...
