well the tank stick was working with mame then i did sumthin' now no worky!!!!downloaded the latest mame from mamedev then controller wont work..the interface for mame sux --,cannot config settings and or cant figure how..go to xgaming sight and use there online tool to check the controls and all worx
but in mame joystick doesnt work and some buttons have changed..this is supposed to be a family xmas present and im getting pretty frustrated.theres no step by step instructions that i an find that would make it easy to setup

 anywho 2nd player on the tankstick works good just probs with player 1...

I don't think anyone called you stupid, but if you want to do this, you need to read read read. Easiest thing to do would be to get the mameui that matches your roms, read their readme, and get tinkering. The reason its hard to find obvious information is because the files of the roms (games)that a lot of people download are illegal. If you want this information you will have to dig, and we can't guide you through that.



FYI you will need to open mame:

-open a game
-hit tab
-controls
-default controls
-hit enter on each key you want to set, and then tap the button on your tankstick.

Try that first.

Remember, If you want help you need to really think out your questions for us to be able to answer you properly.

i edited it out was my fault anyway...

thanx upright i got er figured out..now i need help with my trackball not controlling in mame but worx on desktop as mouse..any suggestions??
