HyperSpin and MAME slow
« on: November 12, 2008, 09:48:54 pm »
so i set up hyperspin and the latest version of MAME.  runs great on my dual core rig but in my mame cabinet, its slow.

MAME Cab Specs:

AMD 4000+ 2.4 GHz
2 GB Ram
ATI X800 XT AGP

these were parts left over after i upgraded my computer.

when i say it runs slow, i mean the videos and sound effects are sluggish.  i think with the wheel spinning adds to the slowness.

as for the mame part, i was trying to play SFII and it seems find but once a lot of action takes place, it slows down.  maybe i did something wrong when i compiled.  i havent tried older versions of mame but im sure i can solve this part.  its the hyperspin i dont get.

i guess my question is what are the minimum specs for hyperspin to run at full speed.  i figured i would be covered.

i was using mala before and all my games work fine with that.  was just giving hyperspin a try.

You should be fine as far as your specs go... You might want to turn off the advanced animations in your settings.ini.
