Coin Door/Mech ID and questions
Ken Layton:
Now here's an idea I just thought of which may help. If you were to change out both of the original Coinco red reject button AND the entry bezel with a Coin Controls red button AND Coin Controls entry bezel together then this might work. The only problems may be where the screw holes are and how the button's push rod lines up with the Coinco entry trough.
Here are the Happ Controls part numbers for the Coin Controls versions:
# 891-1113-01 Red Reject Button $5.40 each
# 891-1312-16 Black Reject Button Bezel $2.56 each

Thanks that is a great idea. Now if they would only show a side and rear shots of that part. It would then be easier to judge how compatible they are. I will be removing mine tonight and have a better idea of how they are structured.
Epyx:
I ended up printing out the Reject coin graphic on transparency to the exact dimensions of my buttons (missing the bezel and inserts).
I then cut the graphics out and stuck them to the buttons using 2 sides invis tape:
And then mounted them in the coin door:
Compared to how it looked before not too shabby:
Here it is now lit with 12v red led although the hammered black looks more grey with the flash imo:

Looks like you used the Rust-Oleum brand Hammered Black, right? It's just on the shade of grey. I'd get a can of Rust-Oleum brand gloss black and put a THIN coat over it.
Epyx:
Great idea. Ill grab some today. I didn't realize there would be such a difference in the shades...
