Coin Door/Mech ID and questions

Hoping some of you experts out there can give me a hand.  I purchased these two coin doors on Ebay which are supposedly from an upright Asteroids cabinet.




Questions:

1) Do these look salvageable and are they Atari Asteroids? (Would appear they are Atari based on http://www.quarterarcade.com/Content/Articles/JoustRestoration.aspx
2) I can see I would have to replace the Reject Buttons. Would a Happs part be universal?
3) If I cannot get the coin mech working which Happs part would likely work?
4) I am assuming a Home Dept Camlock of the right size would work?

Looks good to me.  Just needs a lot of TLC.  See my page: http://pealefamily.net/tech/arcade/coindoor/ .  As for Asteroids the cab used a couple different coin doors, and this looks like one of them.

Absolutely NOT.  IIRC rejects on this aren't easy to source.

The mech itself will probably work fine.  They're built to last a long, long time.

7/8" cam lock is the size you need.

I had actually found your site the other day but forgot to bookmark it and was kicking myself as you had some great restoration tips. Thanks for the link!

I need to update as for the type of paint to use.  The Midway doors look great with the textured paint, and over/under and your style door look best with hammered.
