RF Topgun (wireless lightgun)
« on: November 01, 2008, 07:32:51 am »
I'm looking around for a lightgun and came across this one.
I don't see any mention of it on the forum.

I guess it basicly has the same guts as the regular Topgun. The only difference i see is no recoil and no laser, and of course it's wireless. The recoil is no biggy it kinda sucked anyways but too bad they didn't include the laser.

I do like the design, kind of a futuristic Glock without going overboard. I have no clue what the designer was thinking with the green part  :timebomb: Orange or just black would be a lot better   :banghead:

There is no info on the site how long the 2 AA batteries will last.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Dunno, but I like the gun shape and wireless would be great, assuming the battery life is good.

I Emailed them about the battery question...
I think this is pretty good...

The working hour should be around 30 hours for this Duracell MN1500 (AA) Alkaline battery.

Please note that our RF TopGun would consume around 60-70 mAh per hour (voltage required = 3V), during working mode (i.e. non-sleep mode). Therefore, two 1.5V battery of capacity = 2500 mAh could works for at least 30 hours.

Okay this does have me interested.

I don't have the TopGun II and from everything I hear it is more accurate than the first version, which is one of my complaints.  The other was the wonky setup with the first one.

I still don't like the LED strips, but if I go with this as a permanant solution then I'll permanantly integrate the sensors.

What caught my attention is it being wireless.  That will allow me to build my custom guns easier, like I want to do.

I see though that hkems once again 'borrowed' the gun.  This is exactly like the XBox wireless gun, but who cares if it works right?  I'll wait for a full review on these and if they work well...  sign me up for a few of them!
