For the life of me I cannot open this monitor
« on: November 01, 2008, 02:46:47 am »
This is my desktop monitor.

http://www.accurateit.com/details.asp?iid=35

The brightness and contrast on it are a little high for my tastes.  Even with the brightness turned all the way to 0 it seems too bright.  I can't really get a true black without turning down the contrast so far that it makes everything else too dark.

So I figured I would take the back off and see if I could adjust the screen setting and improve the image.

The only problem is, I can't even figure it out!

There are two screw at the bottom of the monitor, and that seems to be it for external access.

I've looked all over the thing for hidden stuff, or screws behind plastic or stickers, but found nothing.

What's the trick?

As a side note. For those digital Sony CRTs you most certainly will need to get the WinDAS Software and a cable, as there are no Pots to change the Screen/Focus.
I do all that stuff even without a Joystick ;)

Really? :o

Guess that scratches my first plan.  I have had a quick look at this site: http://www.geocities.com/gregua/windas/, since it was the first to come up in a google search after reading your reply.  This sound much better than turning a pot, especially since I have several Sony Monitors.
