TECH: Waves on WG 19K4615 FIXED

This monitor has what looks to be interference waves that will "move in" and then " move out," if that makes any sense.  The screen is bright and colors look great, only these waves, that act like an ocean tide, keep comming and then going?  Any suggestions?

Temporarily unplug the degausser coil that runs around the outer perimeter of the picture tube. Usually the coil is wrapped with black electrical tape.

When do I do that?  After unit is off or during operation?

I have unplugged the degasser, but there are still waves.  I did a lot of adjusting and the waves disappeared, but the picture was very dark.  I turned up the screen, then the lines came back and I cannot get them to go again.  Is there a recommended adjustment for this monitor.  It is in a Pitfighter Vid.

I am having a similiar problem with a WG4600 in a pacman machine.  When the brightness is turned down it is dark but ok.  When i increase the brightness it have vertical spring like lines running across the monitor.  Any ideas on where i should start to look for problems.

Turns out there was not a groung to the outside of the JAMMA board.  I ran a wire from the moniton chassie to the board (mounted to a screw hole in the corner), and then to the power supply. Each wire I added removed a level of waves.
