Monitor ID
« on: October 19, 2008, 04:31:29 pm »
It is in a Tekken 4. It is 25 inch. The tube is labeled Samsung and the board says Bestech. Any ideas? I can find no other numbers other than what appears to be a SN. I have not been able to ID it by any website yet. I will get a pic up later the evening.

Decided against posting a pic. It was too hard to get a clear shot. The monitor works OK and I know that it is a 25inch Bestech. It may be garbage but it looks new and works good at this point. My only issue is trying to figure out if it is cga, ega or what. Does anyone know if you can tell by looking at the board? It has standard pins for RGB and sync. The picture itself looks good but not really hiRes to me.

Thanks,
Tracy

difficult to tell if its a cga or ega,if its vga then it will have a vga connector

some monitors were switchable between cga and ega either automatically or via a jumper plug

never heard of bestech before

Yep that is their website...I sent them an email but no response yet. They might not be able to read English.  :). It does not have a VGA connector which I think is good. It is not the same as the models they show on their website but it is close. I noticed that on one of the models that they show on their webdite that switches between EGA/GCA it has a manual switch to do it. On my monitor, in the same location, there is a relay. I'm hoping that it swictes automatically and is a CGA/EGA monitor.

Thanks,
Tracy

I've heard of a few Bestech monitors showing up here in the USA, but I have not encountered one yet.
