I also have  Gens, O2em and Z26 working without the need for keyboard or mouse. I have Meka working but it requires the mouse to exit.

I am currently working on getting Mess to work but am having trouble

I have been using genecyst, but am trying out other sega emus.  How do you get Gens to exit without right clicking the mouse?  I'm sure if I play around with it long enough I'll figure it out, but I am lazy so I'll ask first

I have visualboyadvance working fine.  You need to keep a keyboard handy with that one though.  Its actually lousy for cabinets as some of its sstem keys map to buttons used for MAME.

I also have

GENS (GENSAVGA actually, which lets you exit with ESC and works with my ArcadeVGA card)

ZSNES (FE version - adapted for cabinet use)

Z26 -DOS version hacked fro cab use - Anyone got a Windows version that has been setup for a MAME cab???

There are a few others including Daphne and a number of PC Games.

There is no reason you should be having trouble with VBA.  Make sure you set the GAMES list to ROM FOLDER ONLY and experiment with Long filenames or not, sending rom extension, etc.

As for MPegs, etc.  You should be able to set that up using the new PC games features in MAMEWAH - just create a shortcut to the video you want to run, the only problem of course is you need an MPEG player that is command line configurable - I'm sure there are several out there for free.  Also, this PC Game feature needs to be setup manually in the cfg files on version 951b because themenu setup is temporarily broken I understand.  I think V95B works though.

cool thanks for the info guys, oh and i got Visual Boy working with out a Keyboard and i can do anything, just used Key2Joy and remapped some neccessary buttons.

anyone know whats the easiest NES Emulator to use? somethins messed with my system i had Nester working 100% but now it loads in and 2 seconds later goes to a black screen and wont let me do anything, does the smae with about 5 other NES Emus including ROCKNES, and JNES.

so far i have GBA, SNES, MAME, NEOGEO all workin fine *CROSSES FINGERS* lets hope then dont go the same way as Nester, since it was perfect...sigh...

also anymore info on the Video thing? if anyone knows a compatible player, and what i should add in the config [im pretty new] that would be excellent.

oh btw im using a controller caz im actually gonna build a custom box and convert this AMD 1.333ghz PC into a Console since i cant afford to build a cab, i figure i could do a console setup for about 300.00 w/ a nice stylish box, wish i could do a cab but im only 20 and lack of funds doesnt allow me to =/

Ya know, a cab wouldn't cost a heck of alot more since you own the PC already.   Just leave room for the J-Pac in the budget and any JAMMA cab will do - you need one where the monitor and controls work you don't care what game.  Condition is not that important either as you can work on that over time.

hmm i may check into the cab thing again. i kinda like the idea of a console, if i do that cab i'd probably do that as a new project once i get this done.

UPDATE:
as of now i have got much running.
MAME, GBA/GBC, NES, N64, SNES, Genesis, Master System, Turbo 16, DIVX, MPEG =)
Im using MAME69DOS, Visual Boy Advance 1.4 [1.5 crashes], NESter, Project64 1.51, zSNES, GENS, for DIVX/MPEGS im currently using Elecard MPEG2 Player but im looking for a better one. and for the other 2 i forget.
Still gonna add more just takin a break im sick of configing =/
so this is awesome for a console type project.

**oh and as for the key2joy...

http://www.messageboard.nl/forums/echo/2243/viewtopic.php?t=95

)P( helped me and posted that link for me, i dont use the other programs tho, i just use Key2Joy, i only needed the loader/killer program when i was using GameLaunch. but MAMEWAH is much nicer.

What are you using for Turbo 16? I am curious how you have it set up.

I have ZiNc working, see the thread called 'MameWah .95b & Other Emulators' on page 2 (I dunno how to link to it  :-[)

I haven't tried the others, try getting them to work in a commandline first, then you know what to aim for with MAMEWAH (use DEBUG.LOG to see what MAMEWAH is doing).

Syxx, how did you get PJ64 to work in MameWah?  I keep getting errors, could you post your config?  Or tell me what settings you changed?  Thanks

well i downloaded v1.5 and v1.5 SP1 from here http://www.zophar.net/n64.html
then with in P64 i pretty much used the default settings umm as far as the MAMEWAH settings
I believe [cant check right now im not able to get to it] i set all the send option to yes in emulator
executional settings, and show dos windos at auto or off i believe.

i can check it again later when i can actually check it but i believ thats correct.

**And whoever asked about the TG16 Emu i forget i will check that later and post back.

Also i changed which Video Player i use for DIVX and MPEGS to this one called The Core
you can get it from www.tucows.com it has hotkeys you can set for exiting, and can turn
on automaticaly go to fullscreen and stuff.

Im still having trouble with Visual Boy Advance and a few other, in the sense that i cant exit them
by only hitting 1 button to quit program, but since im using key2joy i just set some controller keys to alt,
enter, escape and then i can get out that way. btw im using a 16button PSX->PC Controller/Adapter
and it works great. i know this isnt usefull for you guys with Cabs, but since im converting my PC to a
Compact Home made Console its great.

Minwah:

Can you tell me how to configure Mamewah to work with Colecovision Mess, give that this is the command line:

mess.exe coleco -cart mygame.rom

This is the kind of commandline that causes a bit of problem - MAMEWAH isn't flexible enough really yet.  As you know, MAMEWAH just assumes options/switches should be added to the end of the commandline, which in this case it isn't.  I will be adding an option to sort this out hopefully next release, in the meantime...

I thought about editing MAMEWAH.CFG manually, and adding ' coleco -cart' onto the end of the 'Emulator Executable'.  I don't think this will work, as MAMEWAH checks in a few places that the EXE actually exists, I think this will mess (lol) it up.

Depending how many games you have, you could do this:

Create a bunch of Windows shortcuts that point to eg:

mess.exe coleco -cart mygame1.rom (call it 'mygame1.lnk')
mess.exe coleco -cart mygame2.rom (call it 'mygame2.lnk')
mess.exe coleco -cart mygame3.rom (call it 'mygame3.lnk')

Now treat these as PC apps and setup MAMEWAH's Emu Exe as 'PC' (BUG - you must edit MAMEWAH.CFG to do this), ROM extension to 'LNK' & ROM folder to be wherever you saved these shortcuts.

This should work but if you have 5 million games then maybe not!

Colonol Snow.

Try this:

Create a BAT File named MESS.BAT, its contents will be:

c:\arcade\mess\mess.exe coleco -cart %1
end

("%1" is a variable used in BAT files to represent command line options)

then in MAMEWAH specify MESS.BAT as your executable instead of MESS.EXE.

Then when you select a rom from  within MAMEWAH - say smurf.bin the command line generated by MAMEWAH will be:

mame.bat smurf
(Not sure if you need to rom extension, rom path or not)

The ROM NAME "smurf" is treated as a variable that replaces %1 within the BAT file.

So:

c:\arcade\mess\mess.exe coleco -cart %1

Turns into

c:\arcade\mess\mess.exe coleco -cart smurf

you may have to use the ROM PATH as well - there are a few options in MAMEWAH but I can't recall if MESS needs it or not.

neat huh?

bah i tried that new divx player i had mentioned above [the Core] and its not working now.
so im gonna stick with the previous one, if anyone else trys VIDEO playback from MAMEWAH and
gets the Core configed right lemme know since its much nicer and easier to use.

on another note is it possible say if i have 1 emulator/video type say .smc and .fig [mine are zipped but im just curious] or .avi and .mpg, can i add those both to one list? like can you add multiple extensions to one list? if so
hows it possible?

oh and if anyone wants to know any of my configs for anything feel free to ask altho im sure  most of you
could easily get them going, and probably have them running better then i do.

hmm just found out something and might be of interest to some
ppl i tried hooking up my official PS2 Remote
to my PSX USB Adapter and it works perfect so anyone else using
MAMEWAH for DIVX or any video playing it works nicely along with

Pretty much but you might need to experiment with the Rom extension ON/OFF and ROM path on/off settings in MAMEWAH.  Also make sure you have SHOW DOS BOX enabled at least until you debug everything.  Set the file properties on MESS.BAT so it doesn't close after running while you are testing also.
