First day working on my first cab, display questions!
« on: October 14, 2008, 03:44:26 pm »
Hi folks

Been tinkering today with my first mame cab set up using a j-pac and a pc with an ati x800xt platinum edition installed.

All well and good managed to get a basic set up of maximus arcade running with a couple of test roms..

The monitor is a 25" Hantarex Polo.

When I start a game however everything shrinks to the middle of the screen like this...

Which is probably something to do with resolution I haven't set up yet...?  Any thoughts.

Also, the picture appears to be 'bowed' on the left hand side - i've fidddled with the monitor adjustments so its not noticeable as such on the Front end, but when there is a definite edge like above, its quite clear?

Thanks in advance!

I'll have a look for that thanks. What about the games being squashed in the middle of the screen? Any thoughtsv I'm guessing its a resolution thing?

Thanks

i donīt really mess with mame stuff but i would imagine if you can set the res for each game then it would down to that otherwise you need to adjust the width
your front end is spot on res wise

Just sorted the pincushion problem, thanks :)

Just need to know how to adjust the resolution for when I run roms?

For the record, I've tried TMNT, The Simpsons and Tekken 2 (which runs sloooow!)

Any ideas chaps?

Can I be more of a pain and ask which bit? :p

It's getting quite frustrating having it so close to perfect but everything squashed! :/
