Mame skip legal info
« on: October 09, 2008, 04:18:11 am »
What happened? I guess mame .99 and below are the only ones with the option in the ini file to skip the legal info. And .99 can't run some of my roms... Does anyone have a solution?

Either:

1) An older version of mame or multiple older mames configuration that would let me play most mame games w/o legal or game info at launch

-OR-

2) A way to change current mame settings (say mame 1.26) b/c adding the skip legal command to the ini file doesn't work.

Anybody?

Check out the hiscore.diff stickied thread and compile your own version of Mame with the legal info auto skipped.

The other option is to use clrmamepro to downgrade your current roms to .99.  Not saying thats a better option though.  Just another choice.

Essentially, there was a big hoo-doo about the Mame license and stuff and hence the legal info HAS to be shown the first time the game loads. At least in the official build.

Once you've run a set, a .CFG file is made.  When that set is run again, you do not get the legal disclaimer.
You can work around this by creating a valid .CFG file for each set you plan to use - thus MAME is lead to believe you've already seen the disclaimer.
