Cocktail table and Upright in action over the (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend.
My dad's on the cocktail table trying to beat my Galaga high score.. I poured him some bourbon, booted up galaga... and the only times he got up were to refill his burbon, eat turkey, and go to the bathroom.
My brother, and brother-in-law are playing on the upright.
The cocktail table has a 27" CRT TV inside it. I have more pictures to post of the build process, I managed to hack in a DB9 port onto the side of the TV which hook up to some external arcade buttons for tv power, input, channel up/dn and volume up/dn... the computer power button is also on the side. I am running coax into the box so I still do have cable. The remote still works too!!
The upright cabinet has a 20" CRT monitor with enough room to put a decent size CRT TV at a later date. Also inside is a PS2, and soon to be an XBox.
I wired each player to DB25 connectors and ordered 2 of these:

This is what I use to hook up the PS2 and Xbox in the upright cab:

Basically the cabinet turns into a Karaoke server, and you can access the queue and controls through the web browser on another computer (ie the cocktail table or a laptop). From there you can search, or queue up new songs, or skip songs. That way the party can continue while others search the database. If there's enough interested I'll put up the software and source up somewhere.

Big thanks to everyone's project threads on the forums, they provided me with great guides and tips!!
The story behind the cabinets:
The original plan was that I build an upright cabinet with the TV that is now in the cocktail TV. The wife agreed but said that the "gaming" area needed a table first. So jokingly i drew up some rough sketches for a cocktail table and showed it to her

. Her reply was "When is it going to be done?"
... 8 months later I finish the cocktail table (got sidetracked too many times

)... but it gets finished and she goes "ok, now lets start your upright one!!"
She didn't get to help me too much on the first one because she tore the rotator cuff in her shoulder, and MDF is one heavy

....
So ffwd to her shoulder being healed, but 5+ months pregnant and she wants to help me build the upright cabinet... well actually she demanded that we build the upright cabinet immediately because now the gaming area isn't "balanced"... who am I to argue with my pregnant wife? .... In case you are wondering, she was never around when I cut, sanded, or routed any MDF pieces (or when I painted). Take no chances with MDF dust or toxic fumes. It took a week to cut everything and then a couple of days to assemble and paint all the pieces.
To commemorate the completion of the cabinets, my wife bought me this:

This is a must for any retro-arcade lover's holiday season!!
Thanks again for this wonderful resource!!
