Ultracade disc error
«

October 03, 2008, 09:09:39 pm »
Hi everyone, my first post here
I over the last couple years have been collecting Ultracade items (not a machine yet) , last month i bought ultracade tech. system install disc. Everytime i try to install it i get an error <joshua/joshua.ini/> cant install. I'm trying to install on a ultracade graphite computer also.
Any help would be nice, i really wanna play these games.

Post a picture of the System Install CD and the Base Pack CD. This will help determine the problem. Also, post info about the System you are installing too, and a picture of that would be useful. There were several generations of UltraCade Computers and some require upgrades to run the latest software.

Ok here we go, first 2 pic's are the intial screen and second is the error screen.
Next 3 photo's are the install cd, the install cd case and the rest of the ultracade disc i have.
This last one is one of my Graphite computers
Another question, would this run with just the onboard graphic's or could i use a listed Graphite card suck as 3dfx v3, v4 or v5, or a nvidia geforce2, reason i as is hangs up in kernal when i try and use the geforce card and never makes it to the first screen.
im going to get a faster cpu and ram to see if that helps also.

If the machine has a graphics card, then it won't run UltraCade software. It requires that you only run the onboard Intel 810 or 815 chipset graphics. You also need to have at least 128MB and 900MHz CPU to run the 3.x software. The error you are getting appears to be a failure to format and install on the hard drive. Does the hard drive show up on the BIOS screen? Is it the original hard drive?

I'm gonna grab a faster cpu and more ram david but i'm wondering on the 815 mobo, can i use any 815(guessing there was more than one) or do i need a specific one. . .as for the hard drive, no im pretty sure this is not the original one, can you please tell me what model i need(if you know off had) ive got some ultracade ducumentation but i see nothing about the hard drive. Oh and yes it does show up, its a clean drive with nothing on it, i tried 2 different ones.
thank you for the help so far.

For 815 chipset motherboards we only ever qualified the Intel 815 motherboard and the King Young Sumicom S300 motherboard. Any others are a gamble, because the Joshua OS only supported very specific audio chips.

Well, i found this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-D815EGEW-815E-Socket-370-Motherboard-P3-1Ghz-CPU_W0QQitemZ110294746293QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110294746293&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ebayphotohosting
from what i read at the intel web site the 810, 815, 815e are the same graphic wise, the 815 boards after that had the graphics updated. . the big thing with the 815e is 133 support and ata100 support . .would either of thos things be a problem that you know of. . . thanx again big time.

There are three chipsets, the 810, 810e, and 815. The 810e and 815 will both work. They did revised the core graphics engine between them, but those two chipsets we supported. The 815 did go from 100Mhz to 133Mhz memory, but that made no noticble difference in the systems performance. The board that you listed should work just fine.

It showed a different graphics after the 815e. . . Gees i cant wait to get this thing running. again ty very much.
