Mini Marquees ideas
« on: September 21, 2008, 09:16:11 pm »
Hi,I have a SNK Neo-Geo 29 japanese cab (seen in my sig) and i have since sold off the mvs motherboard and use a pc with j-pac. Currently my cab has Maximus Arcade for a fe and i havent updated anything in at least 2 years. My plans are to overhaul the cab, speedy new pc, complete update of all software, fabricate a new control panel that would be much more accommodating to an all in one cab (covering as many emus as possible, of which n64 requires waaaay too many buttons), add light guns, ect.

Now to the point, because as you can see i have 4 small marquees instead of one big one. Now, originally i was thinking the obvious, 4 spaces, 4 letters in mame, simple. But i've changed my mind. Not that i dont love mame ( cause i do!!) its just that my cab will contain so much more. My second idea was to have the four marquees appear as some sort of evolution of video game characters (ie. the dot from pong, then Pac-Man, then Mario, then maybe Master Chief) but i'm kinda on the fence on that idea. But that idea gave another idea. What if in each marquee i have some sort of collage of characters from each decade (70's, 80's, 90's, 00's) in each marquee. Or what if i literally center 70's (with a groovy 70's font of course)in the first marquee and surround it by well recognized characters from that decade. Then follow suit with the next three marquees. As for the last marquee i wouldnt like to use anything finite such as '00 or 2K, but rather leave it open ended like  two question marks or "The Future"? Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks

No opinions huh. Well then, is there anyone who could be contracted to do such a project?
