Thayer's Quest
« on: September 17, 2008, 01:25:09 pm »
I've just finished a new cabinet after giving my first one away, and I can't seem to get Thayer's Quest to work on this one.  I have all the roms and framefiles needed and I'm running Daphne .99.7.  I can currently play Dragons Lair 1 & 2, Space Ace, Super Don, MACH 3, ESH, Badlands and Cobra Command.  Here is my daphne log:

--DAPHNE version 0.99.7
--Command line is: D:\Arcade System\Daph\old daphne2\daphne.exe tq vldp -framefile D:\Arcade System\Daph\old daphne2\framefile\tq\tq.txt -x 640 -y 480
--CPU : GenuineIntel 2400 MHz || Mem : 512 megs
--OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 (Sony)
Setting screen width to 640
Setting screen height to 480
Set 640x480 at 32 bpp with flags: 0
Initializing sound system ...
No joysticks detected
Remapping input ...
Loading compressed ROM image tq_u33.bin...32768 bytes read.
Loading compressed ROM image tq_u1.bin...8192 bytes read.
Loading compressed ROM image tq_cop.bin...1024 bytes read.
Framefile parse succeeded. Video/Audio directory is: D:/Arcade System/Daph/old daphne2/framefile/tq/./
LDP-VLDP: Could not parse video because file D:/Arcade System/Daph/old daphne2/framefile/tq/./tq.m2v could not be opened.
LDP-VLDP ERROR : first video file could not be opened!
Could not initialize laserdisc player!
Shutting down sound system...
Shutting down video display...

Can anyone help with this?  I hope I'm just overlooking something small.

What does your TQ.txt file read as?

It looks like your TQ.txt file is pointing to a subdirectory of the folder tq, with the subdirectory(folder) being labeled "." and then the tq.m2v file being inside that folder. You need to fix the TQ.txt file to pull the reference of "." out of the equation or create a folder called "." inside the tq folder and then place your tq.m2v inside of that folder....

This is the tq.txt file:

.

1   tq.m2v

I cant label a folder with a ".", it says I must give the folder a name.  I've tried eliminating the "." from the tq.txt file and I get this"

--DAPHNE version 0.99.7
--Command line is: D:\Arcade System\Daph\old daphne2\daphne.exe tq vldp -framefile D:\Arcade System\Daph\old daphne2\framefile\tq\tq.txt -x 640 -y 480
--CPU : GenuineIntel 2400 MHz || Mem : 512 megs
--OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 (Sony)
Setting screen width to 640
Setting screen height to 480

Framefile parse succeeded. Video/Audio directory is: D:/Arcade System/Daph/old daphne2/framefile/tq/

Bad framefile perhaps?

Could be, but I don't think it is.... Are you sure your TQ.m2v file is in this directory- D:/Arcade System/Daph/old daphne2/framefile/tq/tq.m2v  ?

Could you possibly post a couple of the .txts for the games that are working okay, and if possible the log file from daphne when it loads those working games...
