That horse is in hog heaven - he is getting a dream vacation to a secluded island.  ;D

With about an hour's worth of food there... wonder if anyone will be able to save it.  Depends on the depth of the water, I guess.

So now are we going to see the same heated discussion on rebuilding this place as there was on New Orleans? I mean who rebuilds a city on the coast of an ocean in hurricane territory?  :P

A lot of those houses are definitely subject to the same debate.  Any time you have to build a house on stilts you know what's eventually going to happen to it.

I don't understand why it's still there.  Unless it rode out the storm inside the house shouldn't it be dead or something?

As long as the government keeps giving them money to rebuild they won't care.  "Hey we need new windows let's hope for a hurricane."
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

I was born Galveston. I'd prefer not to see this happen, but it's nothing new. Had to ride out many hurricanes while I was there, but nothing too bad. They get hit a lot, but normally they aren't anything like this.
