Nothing like a first victory as a new coach...
« on: September 12, 2008, 10:42:37 pm »
When I got my new job, with it came the oppotunity to try and coach high school level girl's volleyball.  To this point, I'd only coached to grade 8, but I'd had a good bit of success with it.

We've struggled this year, no two ways about it, but tonight - after a week of hard practice -  we won our first varsity volleyball game of the year. We are now 1-3 in our division, 2-3 overall.

No, it's not a winning record.  HOWEVER, just motivating the kids to leave their egos behind and come together, then execute what I wanted them to do as well as they did tonight as a team to get this win (we won 3 games to 2 in a  best of five match) was heavenly.  Had to share with someone :)....

That's cool.  Coaching is a lot of fun in the right environment.   ;D
