« on: June 12, 2003, 01:03:39 am »
I'm about to rip my hair off. This is a royal pain in the ass with zsnesw because whenb you hit to save snap it saves it as image then following one as image01 ..etc so you can';t get to far ahead because yoiu can forget which game is which. Anyways i'm going to pull forward anyone wanna team up finish this less painfully!
i'm up for anyhelp. I'm sure somebody has been interestewd in snbes snaps?

Have you tried changing the snapshot settings in Zsnesw?  If you press F1 while a game is up, you can change the snapshots so they save as .png format with the name of the rom followed by the date:

e.g. 3_Ninjas_Kick_Back_(U) 2003 06_10 17-42-24.png

Once you change this setting, it is saved so from then on, all snaps are saved this way.

Hope this helps

If you use Mamewah with Zsnes, you can set it up where it will rename the snapshot for you.

I've tried getting that to work and have given up and decided to go the manual way ( Hey Tyweed, I'm on I  ;D )

Seems, for me at least, that ZSNESW likes to save images in one of two spots:
1. In the roms folder
or
2. In the executable folder
Seems to happen at random but usually they appear in the latter.

 :P  Odd program...

To change where the snaps are saved, change the savedirectory command in the zsnesw.cfg file to wherever you want the snaps to save.

e.g. SaveDirectory = C:\EMULATION\SNES\SAVES

Doesn't that also change where the rom states and SRM are stored?

Yes it does.  But this is better than having them in the rom directory, especially if you have a couple of thousand roms.

I know this thread is sort of old, but I am willing to help.  Also, when we are done or if you have found a completed set,  I would like to host them for everyone to grab.  I am mostly interested in the USA snaps.

Thanks and plz let me know by PM or email.

Tyweed,

Will you be posting the zipped SNES snaps at your website that holds the NES snaps/titles?
Also, is it possible to have the Genesis snaps/titles/box art posted there as well?  I was never able to locate the files that Demon-seed had posted at some point.  It would just be nice to have one main website with all the console snaps/titles/box arts in one place.
