Help with a startup video
« on: September 08, 2008, 10:56:50 pm »
Be kind guys, I'm new to mame.  Ok I built my system from on old arcade box and am using MALA FE which I like.  I am trying to link a  startup video (so that when MAME launches, my MAME intro video will run before dumping me to the FE) and am getting it to work fine EXCEPT it only works if I manually load from a shortcut or the exe.  If I put mala in the startup folder, OR set it to start with windows, it will load a split second of the video and then just go straight to mala.

Does anyone know a work around.

I want this to happen:  Crank up my MAME cab, load windows, start mala, play video and end up at the mala interface.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
PDG

The mala gui has a place where you specify a video to be played before you see the mala menu.

Yes I know, and as I wrote, it is working fine when I load MALA from a shortcut or the executable.  However, when I have it load on startup of computer, the video will not show.

If I close MALA at that point and restart it manually, it will play fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
