Workmate Issue...

 I had this delivered yesterday morning & after careful assembly I
 noticed that the jaws don't line up properly...anyone else
 have one of these benches that might be able to solve this headache?

 



 I'm completely miffed on this...

Assuming it's a defect and not just assembled incorrectly, I'd just align it myself and drill new holes for the screws/bolts that hold it to the frame.  Yeah there's principle and all, but it would take me 5-10 minutes of time to fix vs. a lot of time + gas to return it.

Edit: I don't own a workmate.  Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem like it would affect functionality at all.  It seems purely cosmetic.

is it possible that it is something loose and when you press one side or the other while tightening the clamps it straightens it up or even makes it uneven the other way??? one thing I have notice d about clamps is if you tighten them up to get the to hold true while tightening them on a work piece then you end up having to really crank down to get it to close up,...unless it is a wilton product (wilton is a vice maker that makes high end machine shop vises and such. an example is the tool vice I have that cost $129 and has a opening or 3 1/4" and a jaw width of only 2 inches but has a down ward force when being tightened so it does not move at all but in the direction of the clamp and pulls the part being milled down on to the vice bed giving the most accurate clamp with out having to pound on the part to get it back in the vice)
