Yes, MAME ported to run through Flash.

It's not perfect yet (no sound, runs slow with no frame-skipping) but nice start!
NO MORE!!

Great!  This'll make it easier to put off doing actual work when I run out of new messages to read on the forums....

Actually, I only got about 22FPS (using Mozilla), so pretty useless to me, but great looks promising ...

Donkey kong ran at a solid 46 fps with some pretty trippy colors. Lots o potential!

Ms Pac-man sure ran nice. Donkey Kong ran great (63 FPS), even with the brown acid.

I thought this had been out for a while. Either that or I experienced a psychic moment the other day when this startlingly came to mind.

How long until this site gets taken down, though?

Pretty cool, even if not for serious gaming at least it's genuine emulation, not remakes or clones.

I found this Ms. Pacman a few weeks back.  5 to put quarters in 1 to play.  Looks like MAME to me, but web based...   :dunno

Yea, it did shoot up on my desktop PC to like 75-80FPS, must have been a rubbish connection on my laptop!

Very nice!

There was a site some years ago that I think used flash that hosted mame online. No sound though I remember. Oh, it's the one DeL found. 1980-games.com . He just found an intermediary site. Nice scanlines. And it does have sound, though it's a little screwy. Oh, but it's Java.

Anyways, I was wrong - or something, I don't know much about Java - but it says on the main page there that they're flash games. So, yeah, this has been around a while. Also, the sound being on is game-dependent. Mspac, yes. Gyruss, 1943, no.

It is Flash.. or at least the game I tried was.  If you right click on the screen you can see the Flash sub menu pop up.  Probably why its so slow.  I didn't even know you could write such a complex program in flash.. or maybe its Java embedded in Flash?  I really know nothing about this... but Flash is envolved somehow ;)
