Taito ICB cabinet.

Hello I am looking for restoration information on my Taito Ice Cold Beer game.

The Ice Cold Beer game seems to be the unwanted stepchild of arcade games and does not belong on any forum. The cabinet and control panel is similar to a video game so I was hoping to find help here.

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Ron.

Well, I guess the first thing we'd need to know is what the current condition is.  What are you needing to restore it?  Which version do you have?  The older version with the woman or the newer one with the beer mug?

Hello Witchboard thanks for the reply.

My Ice Cold beer game is a 1984 version with the lady on the side decals and on the glass. The cabinet is dinged up but has no major problems.

The cabinet is particleboard with vinyl looking skin on both sides, not sure what the proper name is.
This vinyl skin on both side of the control panel has pealed back from the edge and is the worst problem.
I was hoping to find out if it is possible to re glue the vinyl back to the particleboard?
The control panel cover (overlay) is good on the flat part but is damaged at the edges.

Sorry bot I do not have a picture to upload.

Is the vinyl on the sides of the CP just peeling, or is it ripped/missing?  If it's just peeling, you might be able to iron it back down to the cabinet.  You'll need to use a shirt between the iron and the vinyl to keep it from sticking.  Use a shirt you don't want as you may get glue on it.  Start with a low setting and see how it works as your dealing with vinyl and don't want to melt it.

As for the CPO, if you can't live with it, you may want to see if you can find a replacement CPO or control panel in better condition.

OK I tried to iron the vinyl back down to the particleboard but it would not stick. I used next to the hottest setting on the iron but no help.

Are there any tutorials about repairing this vinyl skin?

I used Search and could not find any threads discussing this vinyl skin.

Thanks
Ron

The only other thing I could suggest is to glue it down.  Without a pic, it's hard to determine what the best course of action would be.  You could try some of that 3M contact spray adhesive.  Be warned, it's messy, so mask the area and do it outside or in a well ventilated area.  Make sure there's not much wind as it will carry the adhesive.

Yep I need to post pictures a Video cabinet is different from a Ice Cold Beer game.

The vinyl on both sides of the CP tales a beating because every one puts there hands there and the CP has to come out to service the bar and board.

Thanks Witchboard.
