Sanyo EV-20 as a monitor for Supergun?
« on: August 15, 2008, 10:30:15 am »
I built a supergun to test out the large pile of boards that I have.

I hooked up a Sanyo EV20 (since I have several).

Some of my JAMMA boards display fine, but many (including ones that I believe are good) are displaying garbled.  if I push the test button or coin buttons, the screen changes (but remains garbled).

Could this be a resolution problem or a sync problem?

Can I hook up a regular monitor to a supergun if I hook up the the wires correctly to the VGA connector?

Likely you just have to adjust the sync.  This is normal if you're changing boards.

I had tried that, but no change...

I have been adjusting the pots on the back board, but I dont think one of those is the sync.  Does anyone have a manual for this monitor or know where the sync pots are?

Manual - Sanyo 20EZ

A sync issue should have fairly distinct horizontal/diagonal lines making up the image ..... what does your "garbled" picture look like ? (can you get a pic)

Thanks for the manual.

I plugged in one of the other monitors I had (a Sharp).  It works great and actually has a switch to invert the video.  :)

I will plug the other one in and get a pic posted.
