x-n-1 board to pc monitor
« on: August 14, 2008, 09:15:19 pm »
The only thing I know less about than arcade monitors is pc monitors. I don't have a working arcade monitor to test my 48 n 1 board, and all of the pc monitors I have in my house are lcds and one svga.  I couldn't get the board to give me anything on the svga.  Does anyone know if any vga monitor will (or should might be a better word) work with these boards.  I don't want to scour the countryside looking for a huge decrepit vga only to lug it home and not work.  Thanks.

Does your 48-1 board have a vga port and or a vga switch/selector ?

Any of the older style CRT computer monitor should work.  You can get them free or cheap on Craigslist or at the thrift store.

When you say SVGA that implies that it is an 800x600 res monitor.  Is this true? Or is it just a regular PC monitor?  I believe the X-in-1 board outputs VGA (640x480 res) in PC monitor mode.

To enable PC monitor mode, just flip dipswitch #2 on the bank to ON.  Connect your monitor to the VGA port.
