Can a G07 19" Monitor Chassis Replace a CG-19C?
« on: August 14, 2008, 11:17:29 am »
Hello,

Here is my situation. I have a KLAX game console that had a SAMPO KGR-1903VA picture tube with a CG-19C chassis...

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Monitors/Sampo_19in_Color_Monitor.pdf

The (FB-3016) flyback went on it. I am unable to find a replacement flyback (or CG-19C for that matter...anyone? anyone?  ). What I was able to find is an Electrohome 19" Color Game Monitor (Mdl#: 38-G0790410). It has a G07-CBO chassis with it.

Now I am not even sure if this G07 monitor I just got is working...or is set for the right position (ie. horizontal rather than vertical). Since I am VERY new to this, I originally had a TV repair guy come by to take a look at my game console...and have been dealing with him for that past 10 months (he's not one for returning my messages). Before I call this repair guy to come by ($75 / visit) and try to install this (possible) new monitor/chassis, I am just wondering if this G07 monitor/chassis will work with my KLAX game console?

I saw in one of the other postings that the G07 is a negative sync. Is this correct? Because after showing some photos of the inside of my game, someone told me that "it seems your monitor uses 2 pins for the sync". Does this mean that my game uses negative sync too? And if so, then would the G07 monitor work with my game?  I guess I'm just confused about negative vs comp sync and what I have/need.

Also, is there a way to test to see if the monitor is (generally) working before I call this guy over?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

A G07 will work with Klax, yes.

Thanks.  Now I just need to hope the G07 works! I'll keep my fingers crossed!
