Super 6 plus 2 Dart Board Question
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:04:55 am »
I have 2 old super 6 plus 2 dart boards. One of the boards the darts do not register on certain segments. I dont know what to look at to fix it. The other board works but has no sound and the transformer gets super hot and starts to smoke if I play for more than a minute. I swapped transformers and it did not fix the overheating issue. Any ideas on what might be the problem on either of my boards?

Not registering might be caused by dart tips broken off in the board.  Check it and see.

Or it could be caused by a bad connection.  Check the dartboard to mainboard connection.

Tips are not stuck in board. The connection is firmly snapped into place. The segments that are not registering are 20/5....16/8. They are in pairs next to each other. Can the sensor pad have a broken area in it?

It sure can.  Check it carefully and see if you notice anything like that.

Power supply circuit board has either a shorted bridge rectifier (most common) or a shorted voltage regulator. Sometimes these problems were caused because someone overfused the board.

Hey Ken
Which board of mine are you refering to? The overheating one or the segment problemed one?
I have the parts/owners manual will that tell me were the rectifier is at? How about the voltage regulator? Can they be replaced or maybe pulled out of one board and put in another ?

The overheating one. Transformers rarely go bad on these. Generally 99% of the time a shorted bridge rectifier on that power supply board is the culprit.

Some Arachnid dart game service information is here:

The game manufacturer's website is also helpful:

It lists 2 different bridge rectifiers 190021 and 190022. Are these parts available someplace?

How difficult are they to replace?
