Mame32 problems
« on: June 09, 2003, 06:34:48 am »
Hi,

Hope some one here can help. I have built a fresh install of Windows
2000, using a via epia 800 mini itx motherboard, and using th elatest
ver of mame32.

When I select a ROM to play, the screen blanks, then seconds after
the Mame gui comes back. I have no idea why this is doing this.

I have tried changing all the display options to no avail.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Stuart

Make sure you have your directories specified correctly in mame32.  Also make sure you have the correct romsets for the version of mame32 you are using.

This is my first post, so I wanted to take a second to say thanks to everyone who keep this site up.  I'm building my first cabinet as we speak, and I've learned so much here. Thanks...

Having said that, I'm having the same problem that Starbug is having.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is anything in Mame32 working correctly?  For example are you getting title displays or snaps or marquess showing?    When you set the directory paths did you just leave the default roms or is your actual path eg c:/mame/roms showing where you set it?   Do you have all the roms req to play the game?   Do you have the parent rom for the game you are trying to play?  Do you have the bios rom if the game requires it?

Most importantly make sure your path to the roms directory shows where you set the directorys in mame32 - Options - directories.
