Getting the HD games running fast
« on: June 10, 2003, 03:31:36 pm »
On my 1.5Ghz Athlon these games are essentially unplayable....well, I think KI is playable but not any of the others....chop city.  I'm curious, you guys running 2.5Ghz boxes and up.....are you seeing any tangible speed increase in these games or is it really just a question of these games being completely unoptomized at this poitn? (remember when NBA Jam first came out..etc).

I went from a 800 mhz celeron to a 2.3 gig celeron and and the difference was amazing.  Area 51 plays great.  All the NBA games are so much more fun now.
What is that pappy?

On my 1200 Duron the games are unplayable but on my 2.5 G Pentium they work fine.   No more on board graphics either.  I think that helps as well as processor speed.

Using a video card, not on board video, will help, as will using a sound card and not the on-board sound. If those those don't help enough then I would play with the settings (farme skip, etc).

Are there any tweaks to get these games working on a machine at 866MHz?
