steampunk style tron game (need image of inside of joystick)
« on: August 03, 2008, 11:40:21 pm »
anyone have an image of the inside of the tron flight stick so I can get an idea as how to approach making the insides of a it as I want to make one out of brass bezel and coco bola (I happen to have some I got from a furniture importer as the crates were made of it and bacote  as well as some unknown that is the color of mahogany but waaaaay to hard to be mahogany. I have quite a bit of experience making wooded items so I will once I have an idea what to have inside the stick I will just use a band saw to get rid of the excess (and a grinder) then use a dremel to finish up the shaping and finish it totally up with an exacto knife and wet or dry sand paper. also to all those out there I have an automated Mill (CNC) that will be set back up soon so if anyone wants to trade some of their old arcade parts for some work being done either custom or replacements for stock stuff let me know there really isn't anything to hard for it to work on I have even worked on tungsten carbide to make custom endmills with an angle grinder mounted on the head and silica-carbide wheel mounted.

http://extinction.site88.net/gauntlet2.html

metal work(brass bronze and heavy solder work)

MAME project that I am working on as a Gauntlet game.

and finally a mini table top (cocktail) that I am still in the planning stages on but the rendering is well worth the look.

and no it is not gauntlet II like the top says galaga was just a generic game type I used for skinning it

ok this is not related to the topic but important non the less. I see plenty of people have looked at my thread but are still lurking. of any of you have you had any trouble loading the minitabletop cab page? earlier today it kept kicking me to some sort of site and causing a bunch of pop ups to happen. I tested it a minute ago and everything is fine now.

*I was going to delete the links if it was still doing it and if it does it again I am definitely going to do so and find another alternative to that hosting site.*

also note I am going to add a link for what pictures I have of my home CNC machine should anyone want to see it. I posted the pics and page for another user and will eventually take it down replacing it with a proper page as the pics are of it torn down *sort of, as it is still easy to see what it is, maybe even more so*

The minitabletop cab page works fine for me.

I can't access the other pages at work though as they go through an anonymous proxy. They did load fine at home though.

@HarumaN
Thanks alwasy good to hear comments on my work.

@Franco B
Hmmm anonymous proxy??? I will have to look into that. it seems the one that you are refering to is the only one that the PHP and other scripting actually works on as I tried to post a blog on the other site to give info on my progress of things and it just choked on it. the other site I set up a cart to sell things from and it worked fine just did not have a way to collect monies so went to google base.

about the project in general, it looks like I may not be able to get a decent image of the inside of those flight sticks but then I don't think I really need one. been looking around and havenot found a good deal on micro switches either so I am designing a leaf style contact based switch that has an arm on it to make it work kinda like the micro switches button aperatus. I will post on progress of both the joystick as I get to it and the switch.

*edit* anyone know why the leaf style switch is not made anymore or is the missinformation I picked up some where?
