Golden Axe: don't want to hit companion
« on: July 23, 2008, 05:24:04 pm »
When I slash monsters in Golden Axe, I can also slash my buddy. Which is quite annoying in the 2 player mode. Especially as monsters cannot slash each other, nor they are hit by flying monsters when you throw them away.
So I was wondering if any of the two "Unknown" dipswitches can change this behaviour? Does anybody know?

Try them and see. :) I don't ever remember coming across a Golden Axe in the arcades that had been set this way. It's always been one of those things (like Double Dragon). I hated playing these types of games with my best friend, because inevitably one of us would hit the other accidentally, then the other would retaliate and we would end up killing each other instead of the bad guys.

I had a friend who had a Wizard of Wor in his basement in 1982 or so.  He would always get so pissed when I would shoot him.  It was a riot.  Nothing beats starting a game in coop mode only to have it break down to mayhem when the crap started.  Glad we weren't the only ones.

Good times.   :applaud:

I've looked for a cheat just to help him out, but I've found nothing.

My brother has gotten this way playing DD. It frustrates me because I'm ultra careful not to hit his dude. What can I say, I'm a cooperator in such cases.

I actually enjoy being able to beat on my buddies.  Makes for some funny deaths while paying.   :laugh2:
