Monitor tube exchange question
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:14:16 pm »

Hi

I have a 13" monitor chassis with its tube working perfect together. I recently got my hands on a 19" tube that has the same ohms on the yoke's vertical winding and the same number of pins on the connector for the neck board than the 13" tube.

I want to test if this 19" tube is working or not, by connecting it to the 13" monitor chassis and see what happens.

Is there a chance I can ruin my monitor chassis by exchanging the tubes? The only difference between both tubes is the inches... same pins, same ohms...

Regards

the flyback transformer will output higher ht for the 19" than the 13",it will probably work but you will shorten the life of the flyback and a few other components
you may also find the picture smaller

And Works!

The tube is taken from Panasonic 21" tv set.  The image is perfect.   ;D
