Im thinking of buying a Blitz 99 arcade that has no power. I need some feedback

Hi, im new here, so I really don't know where to post this.
There is a Blitz 99 arcade for sale for 200 dollars. The guy bought it to make it into a mame machine, but never got around to it. He said the power never came on when he purchased it. I don't know much about repair but would like some feedback. Should i risk buying this and replacing the power supply. if so, what power supply do i need to get and where do i get one? Do these games usually have any other problems like monitors and boards going out? If anything i can always resell it.

only issue with blitz I know of is the hard drive, but theres fairly inexpensive flash drive replacements (they just need a new U8 chip that usually comes with the flash drive)

Hi, just be sure it's the power supply not the monitor. If the lights come on, but nothing goes on the screen there's a good chance it's the monitor not the power supply.

As for the power supply, you'd have to take a look at the one in the unit. There's such a variance out there in video games(every one seems to be different) that you never know what you're going to see in there.

I'd say you have an equal chance of the monitor, hard drive, or power supply being the issue.

$200 is a pretty good price if you like the game and it's in a decent cabinet (especially if it's in a dedicated cabinet with full side-art). It could even be that some of the wiring is just unplugged somewhere (there are a LOT of molex connectors in mine).

The hard drive is easily replaceable ($25 on eBay), monitor probably just needs a cap kit ($10 if you can solder well), and a replacement power supply shouldn't be that hard to track down ($60 tops if you buy a new one from Happ). Another thing with the power supply is that the voltage may just need an adjustment. Then again the game PCB might be shot. It's a bit of a gamble no matter what, but you should be able to get it going.

I can check the dedicated cabinet I have in storage for the power supply if you need me to. Just send me a PM. I can even take some pictures but mine is currently missing the monitor and control panel.
