Bill Acceptor on Homemade Juke
« on: July 18, 2008, 11:10:05 am »
Has anyone added a bill validator to their jukebox?  If so how did you do it?  I have a bunch of these around and was thinking of hooking it up to allow for the credits.  Let me know your thoughts, or point me in the right direction.

As I've stated many times in the past, bill acceptors come in many different voltages, wiring pinouts, mountings, snouts, stackerless, stackered (upstacker or downstacker), and number of and types of denominations accepted.

So it's very important to know the specific make & model and the operating voltage on it's nameplate. Then you'll also know if it's upgraded/upgradeable for the latest currency.

I know there are many out there as I have many different ones too.  The current one is a Mars AE 2412.  That one runs on 24V and is an upstacker and only takes the $1's, $2's and $5's.

You will also need to know exactly what kind of "trigger" output the one you want to use has.
In other words....... it has to be able to "talk" to the juke software in order to trigger dollar to coinage credits.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.
