Demul
« on: July 16, 2008, 04:36:27 pm »
Being a proud owner of NAOMI systems. I have been really interested in getting this to work to see the progress of the emulation of the NAOMI  system. Problem is I can't get past the unable to load error. HAs any1 on this forum got this to run and if so how? I'd like to know how to set this up to check things out.

I'm a bit out of touch on emulation for that system but last i heard in late Jan/early Feb they had the Bios running in the DC emulator, but since then I havent heard much at all, in fact i dont recall anything since then. maybe somebody else knows more then me ( that seems to be the case about most everything else knowledge based).

It hasn't surfaced in NullDC yet. I guess no one on this forum uses and/or knows about demul. I can just content myself playing the real thing until Mame or NullDC getsit together. I am trying to save some money to ship my Marvel Vs Capcom 2 cart to Guru to dump so the emulation  community could have that to run.

jdurg:

I'm curious.  What works/doesn't work in the new build of Demul? Are there working playable NAOMI games?  do they run at full speed?  If so, which ones?  What's your system specs?

Demul is a bit finicky.  I would highly suggest getting the new NullDC NAOMI emulator if you want to play NAOMI games.  The readme.txt does a good job of explaining what you need to do to get games running, and if you have the gdrom versions of games you'll need the decryption keys from the MAME source for NAOMI.  (naomi.c).

I've only got Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper and Capcom Vs. SNK 2.  My computer is a Core2Duo Penryn at 2.50 GHz  (T9300) with 4GB of RAM on Vista-64 bit.  I SFZ3u isn't properly emulated yet so the sound doesn't work and the input doesn't work either.

Capcom Vs. SNK2 runs 100% and is utterly beautiful.  No problems at all.

The current version of NullDC doesn't have gamepad support, but that will supposedly be added back in shortly.

So I would suggest ignoring Demul and going wih NullDC or Makaron when it is released.
