What Nintendo Cab is this?
« on: July 14, 2008, 10:43:28 pm »
My father in law got this cabinet with a working Captain Silver board set in it. Its been converted to a JAMMA and the monitor has been rotated to be horizontal. Also a switching power supply.

What game did it used to be? The sides are orange and the speaker is in the middle and not on the left side like every other cab I have seen.

Any ideas?

How do you know the monitor has been rotated? I would agree with Mario Bros., but that was a horizontal game...

That was just a guess. I did some searching and I do believe it is a Wide Body Cab.

Are these kinda rare?

Would you guys scream at me for MAMEing it since it has already been raped and converted to JAMMA?

well, of he left it alone structurally, he could decide to restore at any time.

just dont go bolting a 6 player panel with three trackballs and 9 buttons a piece and you should be fine.

Sell this to someone who wants a Mario Bros widebody and get a general Jamma cab to make a Mame cab out of it.

You may even earn some money this way.

I would not be against maming. You're missing way too many parts. It would cost more to re-assemble than it would to just buy a complete working Mario Bros.
NO MORE!!

But why MAME this cab when there are many people looking for MB widebodies?  You could sell this cab or trade it for another one.

Cost is not the only factor. Restoring a converted classic is a higher and noble goal :D

I'm sure my father in law will be opting to MAME it. Don't worry it won't be for a while and I will be gentle when I do it!!

Unless someone near wants to do some kind of trading around I'll ask him if he wants to do that.

We're in Southeast Tennessee.
