Starting to put together my cabinet and wondering if there's any limitations or what to look out for when I try to hook up a 19" WG 4901 monitor.  I'll probably get an ArcadeVGA card unless someone knows of a cheaper alternative.

Thanks!

Well you can download you manual for WG4900 series standard res if you don't have a dead tree copy.

I just saw a great thread on this ---> let me go get it.

EDIT: Can't find the post but the gist was this:

You can either:

1. Get an older very specific video card (like older ATI's, trident T-somethings,  or specific sis card, or vooooo 3) and do a VGA cable hack and futz around for days on end with monarc+, arcadeos, AdvanceMame ADVV trying to get everything configured all the while trying not to send accidently 30khz to your arcade monitor (pop)... get fustrated and buy an ArcadeVGA anyways

OR

2. buy and ArcadeVGA card/cable and spare yourself the aggrevation as Andy has done most of the heavy lifting

*shrug* choice is yours (coming from someone who just did option #1 and is waiting for his ArcadeVGA to arrive *twiddle-twiddle* *fidget-fidget*)

Save you pennies and get the right tool for the right job.

BTW is it a JAMMA cabinet that's intact?  Maybe an alternative is to get the jpac, use one of those tweakable cards, and not worry about sending 30khz to your monitor -> have a keyboard encoder builtin,  and a much simpler wireing job.... *shrug* But even if you get j-pac for ease of interface controls the ArcadeVGA card is still a good way to go as it's tweaked specifically for the purpose at hand.

YMMV -> good luck!
