there's no pc available to the public that are strong enough to even run something like those consoles yet and if there is one available in 5 or so years it probably wont be affordable to the everyday user anyway.
this is not going anywhere for some years to come.
N64 and some mame chd's don't even emu right on high end pc's and now there going to skip past the gamecube emu that dont play right and right into a working wii version? Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Because a Wii is that far ahead technologically? The Wii is basically a suped up Gamecube with an innovative controller.
Gamecube:Wii
CPU - 485Mhz PowerPc : 729Mhz PowerPC
GPU - 162Mhz : 243 Mhz
Memory - 43MB : 88MB
Compare that to the Xbox:Xbox360
CPU - 733Mhz Coppermine : 3-Core 3.2Ghz PowerPC
GPU - 233Mhz : 2x 500Mhz
Memory - 64MB : 512MB
I could understand your comment if you were talking xboxs, but for GC/Wii, its not nearly as far fetched.
Unless someone takes up the project seriously, I dont see it developing faster due to being open source. Hopefully some enthusiastic people take up the challenge though.
