Good news.....I managed to play around with the settings some more and the greens look a lot better. When testing MSHvsSF when I first started Hulk was a dark green (he's supposed to be a light green) and with some adjustments everything is A OK.
Agreed that your green is not right.
Soul Calibur should have a color bar screen in the test menu (under display test) that you can use to adjust with.
As for the dim-ness..... you could bump the SCREEN voltage up a hair on the flyback if the brightness and contrast aren't enough.
Note: One knob is FOCUS and one knob is SCREEN
Thanks for this advice I upped the voltage slightly and while it did make the screen brighter it made the colors look washed out so I set it back, thanks for bringing that to my attention though. I also have toyed with the test settings in Soul Calibur, I haven't made much progress with it yet though.
There is a problem with the green gun or green circuit. This is why you are getting bad colors! Swap the Green wire with Red or Blue, and see if any green comes in. If this works, there is a problem with the wiring or gameboard. If not, there is probably a problem in the monitor with the green circuit, or the green gun of the picture tube is bad.
when you say swap the wires, exactly where are they located. I noticed a plug just beyond the purity yoke on the tube that looks like a wire goes there, and it's not so I tried to spot a stry wire but couldn't find any. When I get a moment tomorrow (working at the moment) I will post detailed photos. Thanks as always
