Game Videos not working help

Hi all,

I am currently working on my 1st cab and i have run into an issue when trying to play preview videos in game ex.  after i record the video when i go back to play all i get is a blank screen.  i went and checked the files and they are saved a .mng files that i do not have an application to open with.  what plugin/download would i need so that i can read these files? and is this contributing to me not being able to read the files in game ex?

i had a problem viewing them also, I just didn't have the right codex for my videos. Try downloading a codex pack.

is their a particular way you have to configure the codec? that and did you do the default install?

I had a similar problem loading the emumovies when I was setting up Maximus Arcade. I didn't have the right codec. Once I downloaded the codec they would play. There are several different codec packs you can find if you want to google around. You don't really have to do anything once you download them.

Also if you have problems with stuttering even after installing the codec pack (I did in Maximus) I would suggest using a video converter program to convert to something standard like mpeg. Intro movies aren't generally long so it shouldn't take very long for them to convert.

Just remember it depends on where you got the videos.  If they are from the torrents then they are mostly DIVX and a few XVID.  DVD or FTP versions are all XVID files.
