PS2 chipping now legal again in the UK

Check out this very recent article:

So why is it I still can't find anyone who does fitting in the UK? After my last fat PS2 broke down, I want my replacement slimline PS2 doing.

Tony Blair was hubby with Bush right? How's this new guy, Brown? Does he like being Bush's pretty boy as well or is he a bit more independent minded?

Since Tony Blair left, I haven't heard anything about the political landscape in the UK.

Bush is doing a lot of questionable things here (go look up the U.S./Mexican border wall and what he's done to get it built) and I can't help think Brown might be like-minded.

Freevast is fake.....right? Prove me wrong, please. This is something I'd love to be wrong on.

Thanks! Reading up now. I've been using several exploits for a while now, so I'm interested in seeing what this can do!

(EDIT: Now that I'm using it, I see it doesn't allow backups to load without a swap, which is fine because I already have a flip-top lid on my v7. I can't get CDloader/DVDloader to work with it, but SwapMagic 3.8 ELF and HDadvance work fine. The only benefit so far is not having to pop in a PSX disc to boot the memcard, but that wasn't a big deal anyway.

I could take this or leave it.)

This is all very good news.

I can get back into the modding business once again.  :applaud:

But unfortunately mods prices will start to rise once again.

PS2 mods are very easy, not as easy as the xbox or the gamecube.

I agree with the verdict, mod chips are perfectly legal, its the pirates who copy the discs who are to blame.

Thanks for the heads up!

BTW whats up with the PS2? Is it not reading the discs or completely dead?
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

It's not likely to happen in the USA because here the Nazi-Like DMCA states that any circumvention of copy protection, or encryption, is illegal.  The mod-chips typically hack the BIOS and if the BIOS contains encrypted code or custom code, then the creation of the mod-chip breaks the DMCA.  Stupid, but true.

same thing with the radar detectors and cable scrablers they can sell them but not use them  :dunno

theres to many comparables and to go after a few only and look the other way on the rest.

I think you might be doing something wrong.  As long as your iso's are patched you can boot them up without a swap using the free MC boot tool and the ESR direct dvd elf that goes with it.

I'm not patching 500+ already burned games, not when I can already boot them without Free MC Boot.

Do you have an Action Replay Max Evo? (Or any way of getting files from a USB flash drive to your mem card?)
Do you have Swap Magic?

That link above that Hoagie_One posted has a lot of good info. I think on page 3 or so you'll find a tutorial.

I had an easy method if you had the above items, but just go read up on what that site has, and any questions you've got, just PM me.
