« on: June 04, 2003, 08:16:13 am »
How many games can I use with the 'searchstrings' command in Lazarus?  I'm trying to make a list of all 270

There isn't a limit, but my guess is you have a typo somewhere...

Remember all searchstrings must be on the same line.  I realize that on this forum it wordwraps for you, but just keep that in mind.

Also I'm curious as to why you are entering them manually.....

make the searchstring:

6=Driving / 1st Person

and the filters:

 11=*control joy*;11=*control trackball*;11=*control stick*;11=*control dial*;11=*control lightgun*

In english it adds all 1st person driving games (you may want other driving games, I dunno, just add them in) and then filters off all games that use any control type other than a paddle (which is also what mame calls a 270 degree wheel). Btw the only two you really have to filter off are joy (for any joysticks) and dial (for spinners or optical wheels)  the rest are in there just in case.

And it will dynamically update your list for analog wheel  racing games whenever you refresh your list.  Hardcoding is bad umk... it just makes more work for you.
