Very nice!

Are the sides painted or laminated?  Is that glass in front of a matte for the monitor bezel or did you paint the backside border of the glass?

Again, good job.  Looks nice.  Happy gaming.

do you have any plans/dimensions/etc? if not, just wondering how deep your CP is... thanks, looks great!

Not to stir anything up but I got the plans from Cyberpunk(he has been really helpfull) and made a few modifications. I think the cab is around 45" at the deepest and 27" wide. I used Rustoleum Hammerlite paint for the finish. Gives a nice orange peel finish. I used 1/4" Lexan then just masked off the area for the monitor and painted it with black satin spray paint. I may get me a piece of 1/8" tinted plexi to go in front of that after reading all of the good things on this board about tinting. Thanks again for the support guys. This is only the second time I did anything with wood. The first being my bar that I built.

Oh, and 1 tip for beginners. If some paint leaks under your masking on your Lexan, DO NOT use Goof Off to try and clean it off. It starts eating right into Lexan. That was the one costly mistake I made. The local glass shop didn't mind of course. DOH!

Very nice. How'd that SlikStik line up with the cab? Any plans on getting a bigget monitor/TV in there?

I had to make a few adjustments to get it to line up right. I have a 21" computer monitor in there now ($65 on ebay with local pickup). I want to use Windows games so I don't want a TV. I thought about a WG 9200 but when I compared the price I couldn't quite justify the cost right now.

Does anyone know whether or not my idea of putting  1/8" thick tinted plexi in front of my Lexan would work?

why put it in front? why not replace the lexan?  If you can get it flush it should work, anything less than flush could (I'm guessing) cause reflection issues.

Well I figure since the Lexan is already painted as a bezel it could still serve that function. Plus the thought of just chucking the Lexan is kind of painful. I figured if I leave the lexan then I could use a 1/8" thick plexi instead of 1/4".

Overall, it looks very nice!

Concerning the UAII and SlikStik: are you willing to mention the adjustments you made?  I purchased the UAII plans, but it doesn't appear to mention anything about the SlickStik.  I plan on building this one and adding a D9200 to it for mine.

One other question.  How is it moving this cab?  The support of only 6 screws on each side doesn't make me think this would be very sturdy when moving it; especially if the monitor is in the top!

Well I used 8 screws on each side plus L breackets on the inside. You also have panels on the top and part of the rear of the upper section for horizontal support. I don't plan on moving it much with the monitor in there. For little moves it just rolls around on it's casters. You can always add another cross piece on the inside for more horizontal support if you like.

As far as adjustments go, Cyber has made some new plans to accomodate the Slikstik. I had already completed the base so he sent me a few additional cuts that I could make (squaring off the base) that worked out well. I would just let him know that you need this for your setup. I'd send them to you but they are copyrighted.

Thanks Snaaake. I have to tell you I was pretty nervous about taking on this project. Like I said I'm a real novice when it comes to wood working. But I figured I could always go buy another piece of MDF. I did the miter cuts wtih my new table saw (anniversery/ early father's day present)  ;D

I guess I must of missed something though. Not sure what you meant by reminding of something?

Well I finally have my marquee. Emdkay did a great job with the printing. Not a great pic but here you go. Let me know what you think.

str1der - that cab looks great - really sharp.  The layout of the controls is obviously thought out, and the keyboard drawer is a classic good idea.  I still need to figure something like that out on mine.  And the marquee is great too - emdkay is getting a lot of good words on these boards.

The D9200 is pricey, but well worth it.  Nothing compares IMHO.
