Shame about it but the Russians were better. They had the better manager I guess....

Holland wasn't half of what they were against France and Italy.... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

My wife and I thought of you, Level . . .  It's amazing to me how supportive she is of the Oranje, being that she's from België, and not Nederland . . .  It would be like me getting really disappointed if Canada lost the Olympic hockey tournament or something, but she definitely has a strong affinity for her Dutch brethren.

Do you know the book "Karakter" from Bordewijk? Where dad puts his son's company into bankruptcy to teach him lessons of life.

This was the same. Hiddink was the total Bad-ASS dad of Marco van Basten and taught him a lesson. It was not about football. It was just about how ASS Hiddink can be, and how childish Marco can be next to him. Painful to see 22 players in Orange suffer from this family-soap in the best DALLAS tradition. Hiddink cannot come back to Holland any more I guess. He should spend the rest of his life and the zillion Poetin dollars elsewhere on the planet. Or he must show charater and lead us pro-deo to a win in WC finals in 2010.
And if you saw Hiddinks face, you could see all the dirt in his mind. Guess he never was hated by so many people.

At least the Russians have a Dutch coach. I'm pretty impressed with how he gets these championship programs running every time.

The CPB already calculated that with this result a Dutch economic resession will now be unavoidable.

  • I, for one welcome our new insect overlords!
At least I don't have to get up at 2.45 AM anymore to catch the game  :D
Wish list: Galaga, Pacman, Pooyan, Star Wars cockpit, Gauntlet, Tron

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

I bet she's from Vlaanderen right ? Thanks for her support :) I think we are all tied together in one way or the other. The Dutch language binds us, although there are also huge cultural differences between the two countries.

We removed all the orange decoration in our street this morning, broke up the tent in my backyard where we (a group of friends) watched the games on a beamer......really sad... :dunno

I saw all matches with Oranje and I really thought "Wow, this is the new european champion". But then, in the Russia game.....they seemed to be replaced by greek players in orange shirts ;) Don't know why they weren't able to beat the russians.....I was prepared for a very good match because the russians were playing good, too.

I'm sorry that you are out...I really wouldn't have had a problem with a dutch champion.....

I'm a little afraid of the match Germany - Turkey.....if we are not going to beat them with 10:1 (so they cannot complain) there will be "Rumble in the Bronx" on the streets of Germany...no matter how the match ends/who wins  :-\
