WiiMusic
« on: July 24, 2008, 02:49:03 am »
Just got wind of WiiMusic. Well.... Umm.... OK, just watch this video.

OK, there are better promos out there and there are better videos.

I like the Wii. I really like the Wii. I like most of my consoles. Take my Sega CD for instance. I like it, a lot. I saw Lunar's intro and I just knew that I had to shell out the money for it. No questions asked and future be damned. However, at some point, I would see a game released and it just makes me wonder, "what the ---fudgesicle--- were they thinking?" For Sega CD it was when I saw 40 copies Power Rangers marked down to $10 a piece at Toys R Us.

That day has come for the Wii. Today I saw WiiMusic.

WTF?? My GF adores the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games and she will likely like the WiiMusic. I stress that she likes GH and RB because of the inclusion of the music "instruments." The Wii just has that.... Wiimote. And while you're at it, look for the guy on the podium. See what he's got under his feet? Yep, that's the WiiBoard. So four players are using their WiiMote and Player #5 is using his WiiBoard as a... what? The ---smurfing--- bass drum?

I had to stop watching the video when I saw just how stupid the bald guy looked using his Wiimote as a trumpet. ---smurfing--- christ. I like the Wiimote and I treat it as a controller, like anything else. But using the Wiimote as a fake trumpet and the Wiiboard as the bass drum just about pushes my embarrassment to its limits.

Just watching a bunch of these guys butcher a game this badly... on stage... to showcase what must be their best competing title to GH/RB....

WTF was Nintendo thinking putting these morons on stage? Wanna showcase a new game? ---smurfing--- put someone up there that isn't going to butcher the Super Mario music.

added: Is that Shigeru Miyamoto in the number four slot? Please tell me that's not him.

Yes, that's Miyamoto.  And yes, that game looks retarded and is easy enough to be played well by a three-year-old, according to all the journalists who got to play it at E3.

Have you tried Battle of the Bands?  That's another option for beat games for the Wii.  Sorta cheesy but worth it to hear Cypress Hill covered by a country band.

wtf, and here I thought Mr Miyamoto wouldn't dare showcase any game that didn't live up to his high standards. He must be getting old or out of ideas. Maybe both.

This makes me embarrassed to own a Wii!  And I can't believe the creator of Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda is behind this!

Is this the first time a Wii game didn't get the RTSDaddy2 seal of approval?  No hope for this one, then.

;)

Now here's a remix of the that drummer dude.

or let's try with some better music?

Considering how bad everything else is. I assume this video is of the Wii playing by itself without human interference.
