Monitor not staying focused...
« on: June 15, 2008, 04:51:59 pm »
Ok, I have a 25" WG monitor in my MK1 cab. I do not know what model, but the chassis looks like it's the original that came with the monitor. It is clean and in good shape, but recently the picture has been acting up. The screen goes in and out of focus all by itself. It will stay focused for a while, go fuzzy for a second or so, then back to focused. This has been happening intermittantly for a while now. Anyone know what causes this or how to fix it? Many thanks.
Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

could also be a problem in the crt socket . bear in mind the focus voltage range can be  6kv-12kv
depending on make/model

If you read this reply before I made the edit here, then disregard. Here is what the actual problem was. After replacing the flyback and some resistors with no luck, I took a closer look at the neckboard connection on the crt and low-and-behold, there was a bent pin inside the guide housing (nomenclature ?). I straightened it up and presto...good as new. Thanks for the input guys!
